of our partnership with international shoe charity Soles4Souls!
Soles4Souls collects shoes from the warehouses of footwear companies and the closets of people like you and distributes them to people in need around the world. Since 2005, Soles4Souls has given away new and gently worn shoes to people in over 127 countries, including Kenya, Thailand, Nepal, and the United States.

Why? Because there are 300,000,000 children in the world who have no shoes. That’s right – JUST children. Consequently, that number rises when you include their parents, teachers, farmers, etc. Can you imagine never having a pair of shoes lingering by the front door? Try to imagine a life without fashionable boots to pair with your latest winter tights and skirt. Is it easy?
It’s most likely not. Individuals without shoes have a higher chance of contracting diseases and children in Haiti are not allowed to attend school without them. However, Soles4Souls is doing something to stop that. The donations we receive from PlanetShoes.com go directly to help eradicate this global problem. Shoes procured from manufacturers, schools, businesses and individuals are distributed around the world to those in abject situations.
It started seven years ago when our founder and CEO, Wayne Elsey, could no longer stand to simply watch as Southeast Asia suffered in the 2004 tsunami. He began brainstorming ways to help. Working in the footwear industry, he knew who to contact to get things done. What developed from that first personal call to action was Soles4Souls.
Since then, we’ve delivered over 16,000,000 pairs of shoes around the world and developed Clothes4Souls, Travel4Souls and Hope4Souls – and we’ve done it through the continual support of donors like PlanetShoes.com and donors like you. Yes…you.
